Which is more serious, giving a false statutory declaration or false evidence under a sworn oath in court?

Since either act may possibly prevent justice, whether now or in the future, both acts are equally onerous, ethically speaking. Any deliberate false testimony given under oath is indicative of questionable character in the witness, regardless of whether or not it is material to the case at hand.
