Can you sue someone civilly for making false statements about you to the police or to the court?

If someone accuses you falsely of committing a crime, and it's not true, they lie to the police, and to the court, which cause you to be prosecuted criminally. If the statements aren't true, can you sue that individual for civil damages in civil court. I mean what if you have the evidence that actually shows that the person was lying, and actually commit perjury, and obstruction of justice. Can that person be charged criminally also? Can you sue someone civilly for making false statements about you to the police or to the court?
yes, first of all that's a tort, so you can sue civilly (if you had to retain defense counsel and had other expenses, it's easier to prove damages) and secondly, it's a crime to give false information to a peace officer. Can you sue someone civilly for making false statements about you to the police or to the court?
Only if the result of the criminal prosecution deems you not guilty or innocent. If you are found guilty then the statements are assumed to be true despite your personal feelings.
yeah if you can prove he was lying and had malicious intentions towards you, your able to sue

goodluck
Yes, you would have a case but remember to bring all evidence to prove it.
